The television show Teen Wolf has specifically captured my attention. The show is now finishing up a third season and has continued to not only surprise but impress me with the execution of both story and film elements.

Teen Wolf is not only exciting to watch but conveys valuable information to the viewer in interesting ways. I hope to achieve an analysis of Teen Wolf by looking at as well as discussing the ways it uses certain elements and how they have evolved over the seasons.

Television has permanently secured a spot in my life by becoming my daily escape. I have always been interested in the different ways of telling stories and the way we can arrange words, and images to create those stories.

Teen Wolf grabbed my interest because of the intricate story line, the characters and the mythological elements that unfold on screen.

I am currently getting a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in writing and a film studies minor that I believe helps me greatly when analyzing what is put on screen. I hope to achieve the goal of becoming a screenwriter for television after I graduate college this May and analysis television is a huge part of that journey.

I would love for viewers of the show to help me analyze the technical aspects I post on. This would help me to learn what a viewer enjoys or what they think doesn’t work in the show. The opinions of others will give me a basis for when I begin writing on my own.

  1. I tried watching this TV series when it first popped up on Netflix, but I couldn't seem to get into it. However, I am all in for trying, or in this case re-trying, new things. Hopefully your blog will point out things that I missed or didn't care for, and make it as appealing as it sounds. I'm looking forward to what you come up with through you analyses. -- Charity

  2. Words cannot say how excited I am to see a blog like this. Though I have not watched this show (yet), I always enjoy analyzing television shows and movies to gain a deeper meaning than casual viewing permits. You will be able to provide some really insightful and interesting commentary on the show because of your familiarity with the content and specialized knowledge of film making techniques. Everyone enjoys a good story, and I cannot wait to hear one from you in the future.

  3. Like Charity I watched a few episodes on Netflix when it made it's way there and it just didn't grab my attention. I kind of felt it was trying to ride on the coat tails of the vampire/werewolf craze that was Twilight (ewww) and True Blood (amongst others). However, being a fellow TV addict I realize I'm probably not the target demographic of the show, who knows, maybe your blog will make me want to pick it up again. How do you watch it? (Netflix, or when it airs, or some other way?)

    1. Bix, I watch the show when it airs Monday nights at 10 PM and while I have access to Nexfilx, I also own the series so I can go back through and rewatch each episode. One reason I really got into this show was because while it has the werewolf aspect as a main focus, it brings in a lot of other mythologies that gives it an edge over other television shows.
